Hi all,
Lorin Willey is announcing his
Chicago Art Institute Field Trip for Saturday, March 29, 2014.
We
will be carpooling/ driving down to the Chicago Art Institute that day
for a tour with Lorin. We will be viewing the excellent permanent
collection of the Chicago Art Institute with its many extraordinary
works! Lorin is personally very familiar with many of these works and
will be lecturing throughout on the 3C’s (the creativity, craftsmanship,
and clarity of intent) of several of the works that we view.
We will meet at the: Park and Ride, at 1500 W. College Ave,
Milwaukee, WI (at the lot on the East side of the road). There are two
lots, so be sure to be at the one on the East side of the highway (the
lot closest to the lake). See link provided here:
http://www.dot.wisconsin.gov/travel/parkride/lots/mil4020.htm
We will leave at 8:30am sharp!
So please don’t be late. I suggest that you shoot for 8:15am to give yourself plenty of time.
We should be arriving at the Art Institute around 10:15 AM.
The Art Institutes hours that day are 10:30 AM to 5 PM.
General admission for the Institute
for Adults is $23
for Seniors (65 and up) is $17.
We also plan on going out to dinner after 5 pm and returning to Milwaukee afterwards.
Whoever
drives will be compensated for gas, all parking costs for the day, and
their museum ticket. If you drive, essentially all you’ll be paying for
is your drinks and meals for the day. Those who don’t drive will split
these costs. People with SUV’s (vans) are asked to step forward as we
can haul more people that way.
Please note: This is a class trip with lectures from Lorin throughout on the techniques of the artists we view.
However, this is also a chance to get together as a group and have fun at one of the top art museums in the world.
So, if you attend the Thursday night class prior to our trip (Thursday, March 27th ), there is no class fee for this trip.
However,
if you do not attend the March 27th Thursday night class, the class fee
for the Chicago Art Institute Field Trip will be $35. to class members
(this will be collected before we start the tour). Of course, your
significant others are free, no more than one quest per student, please.
If you are interested in attending or driving please email me ASAP.
